- Recommendations for management are disease specific once an underlying cause is identified
- Non-immune mediated causes are managed by treating the systemic disease
- Although there are no approved therapies, immune-mediated cases are typically managed by the immediate administration of high-dose glucocorticoids
- Supportive care including ventilatory support (e.g., oxygen supplementation, mechanical ventilation)
